O2 Possessed
The first haunted house controlled by everday connected devices
O2 needed to show that they sold more than just mobile phones while getting the public excited about everyday smart tech’s potential. So we created a haunted house controlled by all their tech. Naturally.
O2 invited the general public – along with a few special guests – to have the fright of their lives inside our haunted house. We opened the doors two days before Halloween, live streaming visitors’ journeys across O2’s social channels.
On Halloween, we released a terrifying wrap film on O2 social channels that showed viewers just how scary it was to have been within the haunted house. This film drove viewers to product demonstrations that not only revealed the tech we used to pull off our scares but also showed viewers how the devices we used might be relevant within their own home.
#O2Possessed became a UK trending topic, back then that was a thing. The videos have 3 million views (and counting), and over 45 million people have seen the campaign on Twitter.
The campaign won a bunch of awards, with recognition from The Drum, the Shorty Awards, Brand Republic, and Shots - but more importantly it was a hell of an introduction to the UK (and my first campaign ever, if you can believe it).
